Wild Card SSL - Unifi/UNMS
OK so i'm still having issues getting this to work. Mainkly because i have no idea what to do with the files i downloaded
So what i've got is a WildCard SSL with *.MyDomain.co.uk
From the Thawte website i have downloaded the following:-x.509 Cert - __mydomain.co.uk_ee.crt
PKCS7 Cert - __mydomain.co.uk.p7sApache Bundle - __mydomain.co.uk_apache.crt
Plesk Bundle - __mydomain.co.uk_plesk.crt
Certificate Issuer - __mydomain.co.uk_i1.crtAlso the Intermediate Certs from their website
So how do i install these onto my Unifi Controller and UNMS (UNMS Installed on same server as Docker thingy)
Will then work out how to install on my Zabbix Server -

Says a salesman that doesn't even work in IT.
Yeah had the same with a supplier that came in to discuss a hardware refresh. As soon as we mentioned ubiquity he pffft at it lol and suggested meraki. Told them to leave

MSP or VAR or just avoid
We see Scott and others say all the time don't get a sales man or supplier / var to do hardware refresh or sizing type projects (plus other things)
But how to you distinguish between them and get the right solution.
I use what I would call 2 MSP and a few Suppliers/VAR.
The Suppliers/VAR -Are used to purchase computers laptops switches ubiquiti stuff etc etc.
Now what I consider as our MSP that we purchase "services" one does 3rd line support on the current hardware if we can't solve the issue, like server OS errors or SAN issues. The other support the MPLS (they don't supply it. We "purchased it from then" but it run by a ISP).

anyone a whizz with Pi's?
I can eat them quick enough, but i'm thinking you mean the SBC type

RE: MSP or VAR or just avoid
I didn't but someone from the office mentioned we are looking at hardware, and of course when they came in and asked questions they poo poo the hypercoveraged solutions (like scale) and even ubiquiti as a "enterprise" kit.
So I won't be looking at any solution from them!

I picked up a refurbished HP Elite 8300 SFF for $300 about 4 years ago. I loaded the free offering from Sophos and have been running it without issue. It uses OpenVPN for remote access. I also have an IPSEC tunnel setup for work.
I did have to buy two NICs. Since it is SFF, I had to make sure that low profile brackets were included. Was thinking this but could I add a WiFi card and make it into a Access Point as well. Since it for home the less kit taking power the better

@jaredbusch Thanks
Must of been a setting i was missing in my NGINX conf file. Made it too look more like yours and i'm working -
RE: Random Thread - Anything Goes
YEAH!!!! Gold image done! and Citrix 90% Done

RE: Backup server - Software layout
Funny enough I was going to ask a similar question about veeam.
So install Hyper-V onto the raid. Create a VM with one VHDK for OS and Veeam software. Then a big one for the repository?

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
Got Citrix working, just need to iron out a few issues with ThinPrint and GP then can start installing on a few people machines for testing and deploy more server when we sit down and plan that out as I don't think the current hardware is going to cope with 4-5 XenApp servers.

RE: Certifications! Are they still worth pursuing?
@coliver Guess it depends on who you get it. Yes the CCNA is just a paper test at the end of the day. But i did it as a instructor led course so had a lot of hands on, so personally think i got a good understanding of Networks / Routing etc.
Luckily my first job saw that "course" as being a good base for an entry IT job.
Further down the line and no .... no one cares i did a CCNA

RE: Run virt-manager on Windows 10
@scottalanmiller said in Run virt-manager on Windows 10:
Oh, that's because by default it is trying to connect to a local instance. If you don't have one, it's just confirming that. It's not an "error", just letting you know that it needs details for a remote instance before you can use it.
Ah ok will have to wait until Tuesday and try again. Not in Monday and I shut the machine off for the weekend
