I took some interview courses from the county works project and they advised that this situation is common and to always be prepared. It's up to the interviewers to initiate a video call and they can spring it on you to see how you deal with the pressure. Remember that only part of the interview process is confirming your experience, which you've documented in your resume, and the rest is to see if they like you (testing your attitude, humor, and other behavior questions).
You should be testing yourself by reading up on interview STAR questions and responses (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Situation,_Task,_Action,_Result). Look up some of the standard questions and write down your answers. You can also help yourself by making an elevator speech (http://sfp.ucdavis.edu/files/163926.pdf) so you can start out the interviews with this simple speech. Don't memorize one, but have topics or points to cover, and get it in a process that allows you to repeat it effortlessly, though you need to be prepared to improvise.
Good luck!

Here's a challenge: stop using Spiceworks for 30 days.
Done, many times over. Which is easy when a heavy handed mod gets a boner from ousting you from the community. Plus, after attending Spiceworld for the first time, I realize I never need to waste $$$ on that again.
Be flattered someone still gets a boner for you. I'm devolving into a chicken mcnugget
Pretty sure I'd be happier if I could slap the smirk off him.
If it's the mod that I think you're thinking of, who's name rhymes with ass, then we have something in common. However, I would also posit that, due to the haste he displayed in sending me on my way, they no longer value the people that put time in to the community in the first place and only want quantity (as opposed to quality) in IT. That makes sense given that page views are their revenue generation. In the meantime, my challenge stands: stop using Spiceworks' community for 30 days, if you're currently using it.

Haven't used Spiceworks in over a year What do i win?
You get a year's supply of sanity! Not valid for residents of Arkham Asylum, riker's island or Minnesota.

Now: looking up Dell MD specs because I want to know if what the storage IT guy here is proposing is accurate; a raid 1+0 being slower than 6 raid 1s with a pool defined to use all of them, which sounds f***ing identical to a raid 10. This storage guy makes my head hurt because I really disagree with how he makes things so complex.

This is too easy. I never created a Facebook profile and I don't use it.

@art_of_shred I think the point is completely lost in there. Electric vehicles are the future and they will be much better for the environment. While today's technology may not be perfect that is how we humans progress - one step at a time. It sounds like you are arguing that we shouldn't bother and just continue our destructive ways. That is not progressing anything.
Art has a huge point though - we still get the power for our electric cars from coal and oil burning power plants. There are fewer and fewer nuclear power plants today, so unless we already have that new method of power production, we are still burning the fossil fuels.
So to Art's point - are we better off burning the fuels in the cars to generate power to move our vehicles or are we better of burning the fuel, converting it to electricity (loss) - but might be equal loss to burning in car), then having to transport it - generally through some type of conversion (loss), then storage (again loss).

@wirestyle22 Thanks! I'm not sure what controllers I need to collect yet. I already have a pair of classic Nintendo ones (like http://a.co/1PtpfRy) and an old USB controller that I picked up years ago from woot (http://a.co/dW9aLKj) so I'm going to play around with these and see how far I can get.

Trying to avoid this stabbing sciatic pain!!!!!
I saw my chiro last night. I'm doing really well today in the places he worked, but we didn't do anything for my lower back, so it's all tight like a bunch of week old garlic knots.

Update: I got an HDMI cable and RetroPie works wonderfully. Now, I just need to get ROMs.
Remember the bios files too depending on the system
Vague statement is vague. BIOs for the Pi or the emulators?
Emulators. I don't think they are legally included in most emulation software.
RetroPie includes just about every emulator that there is. I did check with a couple old ROMs that I had from long ago, and so I have the original Legend of Zelda on there, and working, as well as a couple Atari 2600 games. It would be nice if there was an ability to run a couple PC games, but I'm only just starting out with this so it may have that and I've yet to discover it (I want to put Princess Maker 2 on it for my wife). Ultimately, I'll need some more controllers for the PS2/3 emulators. I also saw that there's a Descent 1 ROM out there, which would be great. I still have my PC cds for that! Loved that game.

Have you ever been sitting next to an ignorant arsehole who is trying to justify his own bigotry and racism by spewing out ignorant, racist, ridiculous, bigoted words, so much so that you wanted to choke the life out of their worthless body? That's what I did for lunch today. I even resisted physical violence... I even resisted the urge to tell him what a pile of shit he was. But if I knew what he was driving, he might have 4 flat tires when he finished lunch.
Whoa. You had lunch next to the President-elect? I applaud your restraint.
Edit: to be clear, I'm only happy that you would restrain yourself in this situation for no other reason than it would be a shame for you to go to jail.

@MattSpeller I recently discovered that Trader Joe's carries Nitro Stout. Unfortunately, it's like $12 for a 6 pack.
That is a cheap 6pack here in $CDN
We get fancy ones from Oregon for $25/6pack
I recall that! I went to Calgary to teach a class and was blown away by the price of beer. Your government must be making all their money on vice taxes. It makes a good case for giving up all of your vices!
Liquor and smokes bud - ohhhh damn.
Good pack of smokes is near $14 now
Smokes bud? I thought you said Canada, not Colorado?
You should come visit Canada again soon haha
I will be driving through in August of 2018 as part of my motorcycle ride to all four US corners (San Diego, Seattle, Maine, and Key West).
I have an open invite to any ML denizen who visits Vancouver Island - first pint is on me
Thanks! I'll be posting here to plan and do ride progress as the time nears to leave. Any lodging help is greatly appreciated, even if it's just a suggestion for a good campground.
