I used to be able to type pretty well. Like @scottalanmiller I generally can type a conversation and have a conversation with someone at the same time. I've freaked a few people out by doing that. I even manage to keep up with my errors and correct them (mostly) on the fly.

However I'm not able to type nearly as fast as I once was.. In my last job part of my responsibility was to teach typing,.. people kept asking my typing speed so I broke down and took the test. My peak was about 118 WPM - but with all the typing I have done over the years, bad habits and such it's no where near that any more.

I type faster then I think in some regards,.. and 10x faster than I can write.

I checked with a fellow IT'er and Engineer and he doesn't know if a Desktop that has a Cellular option. So anything you 'add' with be 3rd party.

You said BBS...music to my ears and it takes me back...:)

I remember hearing the >click< >modem handshake< and going to see who was on, and even at 2am taking a few minutes to chat with that person. There was a system in the area that had I believe 8 modems, and you could chat with not on the SysOp but one of the other online members.

Raspberry Pi can't run Windows, so that's a big limitation. Laptops are too fragile. That was suggested but it's hard to imagine customers not messing with a laptop that is sitting there.

Agreed. It was the first thing I thought of having a SIM - I have not looked for / at other cellular devices - or cellular embedded devices.

I don't think a Pi will function in that regard.... Sadly one of the first devices I can think of is a Laptop. I have several here that would allow for a SIM,.. so bypasses the WAN.

As for development - take any device, and build it out as a VM with your OS and tools and go from there...

The Fh-ablet (Phone/Tablet) is to large to be used as a phone in my opinion,.. this looks to be even larger.

I've run into this a few more times than I would have expected. User is able to sign into their account via Chrome and IE, so it doesn't appear to be an account issue.

Moving people over, I'm exporting their mail, renaming the Outlook folder and then removing the profile. I create a new profile and start the Exchange account build using auto discovery.

All goes well until the last part - the log in which fails. If I cancel it, I get a pop up box with the server settings. I have confirmed the settings; username and password.

This is maybe the third person I have seen this with.

Oh well.. I might just stick an MS OS back on an old PE box and use NTbackup.. It's simple,.. but doable.

I've not had to use many command line options over the recent years... so tar isn't is a tad foreign.

Researching some information on freeNAS and wonder if it has the ability to backup to tape.

Has anyone seen or done this?
