Canceling PT for my daughter (19 months old) for tomorrow -

The whole reason is cause she's been slow to walk and was on the outside of that "normal range" - Thursday last week after we confirmed the appointment she stood up and started walking all over the place - There is no stopping her now! She's a walking machine.

      Excellent!

I find it interesting how much I have managed to get into here, not just addressing site or global tickets, but also doing some project work, server admin(mainly printers), powershell scripts, and procurement.

Current project is looking at some managed screen (digital) signage… and managed to end up the lead on growing list of sites for it…
Oh well, back to creating user accounts for now.

@Obsolesce said in Remote Access software with good dual monitor support:

Specifically, the ability to have each monitor in its own window with its own resolution

That seems rather oddly specific and I don't know that it is possible Bu I could be missing something as there technologies I am not aware of. It just seems like if you are looking for a separate window for each remote display - that would require multiple connections to that computer.

I would have suggested noMachine - it's been working for my needs, even when using my iPad at work. I can't be of any help here,.. so I'll step back and maybe learn something new.

Surgery went well. Now day after surgery. Localized numbing wore off early AM. Popliteal nerve block starting to wear off too. The pain is real.

Glad surgery went well and that you are now on the path to recovery. Set goals and keep moving (literally) forward.

@gjacobse Does Promox have an Admin interface?

yes it does,.. the native 'client' is web based:

Just think about using from the phone or iPad to check over all status of the system,.. not to add or manage system - it's not a critical system, and no business runs from it. Just curious as to what practical and useful tools are available.

As I delve deeper into the realm or Proxmox, I find a curious thought about if there are valid and worthwhile tools on iOS and Android platforms.

While I only have iOS, it just makes sense in of course include Android…

Not specifically looking to fully admin the box or cluster, just some basic tools and status information .

While not with Scale - Just checking on my home hack Proxmox - Old desktop computer running simple sessions right now.

      One UBNT Wifi Controller
      One Windows for Ham radio

Likely add another Linux system with an SDR on it for something.. just not sure what yet. Over all - it's not fairing to badly.

I’ve taken some hits and falls, but as far as I know, been lucky this far.

My day will come- likely like my dads, falling at 85 yo and breaking a hip…

      Here for a successful recovery.

    • NoMachine: connect drops regenerates key

Nomachine is used a like by many I would wager.. I use it connect to my computer controlling the radio when I am at home or remote. It's a great tool

I am testing a Dual Boot system; Windows 10 and Linux Mint with the current focus being on the Linux side of things as I have a solid functional build in Windows. Linux side is Linux Mint - not all that important but -

After a period of time - either while connected or just sitting idle I end up with a time out error and then am unable to reconnect to the session without accepting a new device key.

      Any thoughts on this?

Meltdown is ‘largest IT outage in history’ says Microsoft

More than eight-million computers have been impacted in the “largest IT outage in history”, according to the software giant Microsoft.

Microsoft, in a report from Reuters, said: “We currently estimate that CrowdStrike’s update affected 8.5 million Windows devices, or less than 1 per cent of all Windows machines.”

Oh is that all? I mean,.. It's just a minor ONE percent after all...

It was high time to bring this back to the top..

Been actually taking some time to work the radio the last two weeks. Amateur Radio can be interesting and a challenge. The main thing I join in is the ARRL Field Day which is in June,.. but been keeping the radio warm the last week..

Have successfully worked from Australia and Japan to France and the Netherlands. I've never been to successful with reading that map,.. but I believe each balloon with time is where I am heard and how long ago.

    • Print issues: Zebra ZD621-203 ZPL

Having an odd issue with this printer.

Installed on the print server with the latest driver. Try to print a test page or anything else it cycles like it would print- loads to queue, data light flashes on printer, queue clears- but nothing prints.

Delete printer, driver, port and try older driver and same thing.

Yet I was able to load an older driver directly on computer, made it over write the existing driver and would print.

Pulled in one of the Server Admins and it’s doing the same to him…

Clicking off ideas and running out on things to try.

Weirdly, there are set up to print from/ for SAP, and SAP prints.. though through a different print server.

Accepted a job offer this morning, so I'm back to work tomorrow.

Slight raise to base pay, but I'll also get 5% of my billable hours. So if I keep my billable hours up, a big raise.

Only downside is that it's on-site in downtown Cleveland.

      Congrats! Hope it goes well.

Starting to juggle job offers. This is before my severance ends, so things are looking up.

That can be a challenge. If they are close enough in details it could come down to the expected environment, and future challenges.

      Best of luck.
