It's been like 5 years since CentOS 7 was released.

Ubuntu 18.04 LTS uses 90 MB out of the box

Any idea what 19.10 does? But yes, Ubuntu has remained lighter than CentOS and Fedora, which is one of its biggest benefits.

Debian latest is even better than Ubuntu, surprised to see this I think centos 8 is still not really ready tbh. Even no minimal images to download, you need to download 4gb image.

I know the title sounds scarier than it seems, but this is coming from centos 7 using 80-100 MB so a bit suprised.

no it is reserved for broadcast stuff. not recommended, i think it is called broadcasting IP

I think you are mistaken it for the last IP address which is the broadcast address. So 192.168.0.255 in this case.

You couldnt let that pass, you have to make me look like idiot.

YOU WANT THE TRUTH, fine i will give it to you. the first IP is reserved for FBI and CIA, here you go

      It accepts it and runs.

Disregarding this small thing, i feel ubuntu is no longer what it used to be.

Phoronix made benchmark and Debian was much better than it, it just came bloated and bloated.

I need to switch and learn something new, and since I am in Canada most likely it will be Fedora to get more familar with RHEL. I wish i was in Europe I wouldve loved suse, and the direct women. I hate it here I have to dress up and go on dates for hookups it doesnt make sense, it is hookup why play the act

    • RE: Next steps with SaltStack

      @JaredBusch

      Hi

      Play with this :

      https://docs.saltstack.com/en/latest/ref/states/all/salt.states.win_lgpo.html

If you have windows minions and set it to run every 30/60/90 mins, and BAM you have AD without MS BS

While you can use salt grains to target OSes, I like to diffrentiate them with good naming system:

      WIN.001
      LIN.001
      SRV.001

You might ask how to differentiate between windows SRV and Linux SRV, well frankly my dear i dont give damn, and i dont run Windows servers.

Dont get laptop, get Asrock A300 pair it with NVMe SSD like 970 EVO Plus, do firmware update before you start, and get the cheapest ryzen cpu you can get the Ryzen 3 2200 and pair that with 2 monitor setups and wow

He obviously needs a laptop and dock. Not a desktop.

but this thing is in between, it is not desktop, it is really mini. you can easily carry it and work in another location if you have monitor on the other location + elec.

Plus the performance per price and modularity is better than any laptop. Sometimes a new angle is good. This is my workstation in Canada.

A couple years ago we ordered a number of Galaxy Tab 10. They have generally worked.

The current version of them will also likely work well. But they are $250, so it is worth a short amount of time to look for other models.

this is the best option, the 2019 model has no competition.

YAST is ncruses tool in server mode but GUI when you have a desktop environment. Amazing tool, I know we can do all of those by typing but at the same time I wonder how mujch time this saves, and the learning curve is much easier. Also ncurses have no overhead.

Can you create it with virsh? Wondering if it's just a virt-manager issue since they are deprecating it.

Over my dead body. I love virt-manager they kick that out and I will be kicking them out. not everyone wants web gui using resources and being inefficient with VNC protocol and opening another port.

The web gui hardly use enough resources for you to even notice.

I do agree, cause I have split personality but that said I still want virt-manager to be around. It is very mature and snappy.
