RE: Do Resellers want too much?
What I mean is, they seem to be reselling Dell hardware, they must be tacking on profit, yet they want Dell to give them money for this "Good work" they are doing on behalf of Dell. It's like walking into walmart, buying their food, selling the food on at profit, then walking in and asking for commission. Don't get it.

Do Resellers want too much?
My gut reaction was, greedy person. Am I over-reacting?

Stuck here, late at night, trying to fix broken stuff, on a sugar rush to keep me going.

I'd like a quote on full Linux deployments across the UK. On behalf of every person with common sense and a busy life. Candy Crush must be purged.

We're going Mac Or Linux. Windows 10 is banned as a time-wasting product from this moment on.

RE: Choosing a Cloud Computing IaaS Provider
Shrugs different culture again? Even between north/south UK there is a crazy money gap, between London and the south there is a bigger gap still.

RE: Choosing a Cloud Computing IaaS Provider
@scottalanmiller Compared with other jobs you could be doing in the UK, they pay handsomely, nowhere near minimum wage. Had a guy from a 2 person bench shop to Rackspace and the income different was substantial.

They pay near min wage here. Sys Admins/Linux Admin/Network admins are like $10/hr or so.
They pay quite handsomely in the UK, maybe that'll be changing soon.
Is the end nigh for Rackspace?

@Breffni-Potter I told them I wanted unmanaged, and they said this is the best they could do
Was that over live-chat? Have you tried phone/email methods? Sounds very dodgy.

RE: Choosing a Cloud Computing IaaS Provider
That's the managed infrastructure, you want unmanaged infrastructure. Contact them directly.

@scottalanmiller I went around and around with them yesterday, and they said $50/month was the minimum for all packages.... Maybe the person on chat was confused.
I've had that before, Switch to emails, put it in writing, then they'll relent. Rackspace are terrible for hard-upsells.

That's silly since they said that they were not monitoring it and they were just trusting you to only use 1TB as it is.
The type of people to do this generally don't care, they were fairly vocal about it yesterday. I just find that mentality so funny, their first reaction is how to cheat the system.

RE: Unitrends Redefines "Free" Virtual Backup
@StrongBad - It was hilarious, a few guys were talking about how you can get a 5TB backup by doing exactly that at Spiceworld.

I assume that using a fake email will work? Or just a spam account.
Ha, the worst nightmare of these marketing products. Fake data.

They'll have real fun with me, I've got a little black book of choice replies to cold calls.
