    • RE: Building a Hyper-V 2016 host Take 2

      QUESTION:

Let's say you have 3 NICs in the server, and you give them static addresses of 10.0.0.1 10.0.0.2 and 10.0.0.3

When you team them, the multiplexor adapter is created.

This then gets its own static IP address?

I keep losing connection here at this step, and I can fix it, but might be worth a small discussion on...

One other thing to mention ... might want to change the time zone, if needed.

The backup for ODfB is a nice feature.

Admins typically can't even access that, at least not easily.

Welcome @BitTitanMigrations who were invited (or possibly cajoled) by @BRRABill

I just said that ML was responsible for me finding out about them, and they should check it out.

      BTW:

As a followup to this ... thanks to all who recommended MigrationWiz by BitTitan. Great product, works awesome (and relatively quick) ... and their support is live and incredible.

      TWO BIG THUMBS UP!!!!!

Just wish I had learned about them at the beginning of this whole ordeal.

      Sounds good.

I really think this is a product more people need than they realize.

Tried to start watching the new Lost in Space last night. Didn't realize it was only 10% about space and 90% about inter-family relationships and drama. But on a positive note, the new season of Westworld has been excellent.

I have to start watching that. (Westworld, that is.)

With my little XS adventure earlier this week, it reminded me how truly simple XS/XC/XO is.

Hyper-V really does need such a thing. Such a free thing. 🙂

Just wanted to throw in here that the updates window can lose focus, so if it's been a while ... you might need to hit a key in it.

@JaredBusch said this has been around forever, but this is the only time I have seen it personally, and it just got me again today!

@pmoncho said in MFP/Printers - what brand do you like?:

      We have HP here.

Over the years, the printer drivers have become worse especially when trying to print an envelope. Plus, they keep adding more plastic parts so more they tend to break faster.

I was thinking about switching to something else this next go around.

Hopefully (for me) they are using all their energy on their new copier line!

Some info in this thread, as well.

We've been happy with our Konica Minolta machines, but are going to take a stab at HP this next go around.

It also warned that the share (when trying to connect to the domain) was insecure and SMB1.

I had to go into the Features section of the 1803 client (fresh install) and enable it.

BTW: those DNS errors were caused by using an older version of DCDIAG, apparently.

Installed newest version and it works like a charm.

@brrabill said in AD Issue ... Windows 10 or the Domain?:

      BTW:

Turns out the issue was a 1803 thing.

Maybe it is just my environment, but have never had to enable SMB1 before.

Though I did have a couple errors in DNS that I also fixed while I was in there.

And of course the errors above that I posted. Though everything is working perfectly.

SMBv1 Is recently just disabled on all new windows systems

Probably why this is the first time I have seen it.

And assuming any upgrades would just keep it.
