At least it's documented for others.

@Dashrender said in FreePBX update negated/erased an Asterisk Dial Code we had set?:
Interesting. With my current phone system, my phones don't have enough display space to show missed calls by default, so this is something I've never considered. Though with the consideration of moving to FreePBX and moving to 10 button phones, we'll definitely have the room for this, and I could see this complaint coming.
I'm interested in knowing what you find to solve it.
The custom context worked since I originally setup the system, even when I was on Elastix. It's crazy annoying to have every single call marked as a missed call. I'm thinking I probably should have set it as an option in the ring group from the beginning though, not really sure, as I can't remember why I did it that way. Definitely not a FreePBX expert by any means lol
All our Yealink phones have a blinking red light on the top to indicate the missed call, and it shows on the screen
Maybe somebody could help me with this. I don't know if the setting has been overridden by something in a recent update or what. But I used to have an Asterisk Dial Code (I believe it used to be called a "Custom Context"?) setup that made it so if a call was picked up by somebody else in the ring group it wouldn't be marked as a missed call on all the other handsets. After I ran updates a few days ago, we're now getting every call marked as missed on every other phone than the one that answered it...
Do I just need to mark "Answered elsewhere" option to "yes" in the ring group?? Will this accomplish the same thing as what I was doing before?
My Asterisk dial codes are currently set to TtrwWc
, and I can't seem to find the documentation I used to set the custom context before.
I will try to spin up a backup from before the update and see if the dial codes are different. I just don't have time to do that right this minute.

Aside from @scottalanmiller who else on here has a homelab ?
ps, before you run to your keyboard, spare me the response, running a hypervisor on your laptop is NOT a home lab!
I have an older DL360 that I run a few things on. Primarily I need the hardware for my Plex server. If it weren't for that I wouldn't have a home lab at all. I am currently looking to upgrade to something a little more energy efficient.
Upgrading a couple Nextcloud servers. Something must be going on with their mirrors or whatever they use. My client update has been downloading for like 3 hours now and it's only 120MB, tried to restart it once and no difference. The server upgrade has been running for like 1.5 hours now too, still at the "Downloading ..." stage.

Does anybody running KVM have issues with Windows XP guests?
Just upgraded XCP-ng from 7.6 to 8.0 and now our stupid ass ancient punch clock app running on XP won't boot
With KVM, when installing unsupported OS like Windows XP through Virtual Machine Manager, you end up using the generic default template.
Chipset will be i440fx.
Storage will be IDE bus type.
Nic will be e1000(Intel).
This is what somebody recommended for XCP-ng, too. Create a new VM with the "Other install media" template and attach the disk to it.

I think the issue lies in the fact that your business is still relying on Windows XP for any service.
Talk with the punch clock vendor and get a new one, don't blame the hypervisor.
100% not blaming the hypervisor lol I can't tell you how many times I've told management that the thing is on it's last leg and no longer supported. The software hasn't been updated since 2001... Silly me keeps fixing it though. I think it might finally be time to upgrade.
I spend at least an hour a week updating the thing manually, I've added up my costs and shown them how much money the stupid ass thing costs the company and they don't care.
I do need to spin it up on something and retrieve the data though. That's why I was asking about KVM. I guess I could just do it on my computer with Hyper-V

@krisleslie said in Using XCP-NG latest release, Windows 2019 Server VM file copies are pegged at 10 MB/s:
@Dashrender I actually started the job off with Robocopy. :0) 500 GB got transferred after about 12 hours or so. Thats SLOW.
Did you add the switch to use Multiple CPU threads?
@Dashrender said in Using XCP-NG latest release, Windows 2019 Server VM file copies are pegged at 10 MB/s:
I have found that transferring via xcopy is much faster for small files than just drag and drop in windows.
I use Robocopy, I believe it's more powerful, but I think it's a little more complex too. Either will be way better at handling all of those small files than copying them in explorer.
I would poke around https://xcp-ng.org/forum/category/2/storage a little and maybe there are other suggestions for tweaking your storage performance. I know it comes up a lot over there.
@krisleslie said in Using XCP-NG latest release, Windows 2019 Server VM file copies are pegged at 10 MB/s:
it barely gets better on any host. I have roughly 10-20 vm's on each host. 3 at work are in production, 1 server at my home is being setup. Out of the 4 servers, 2 are brand new. The others aren't super old just 2.5 years old. I have my own lab and 2 servers also. Only 1 of my home servers is in use, but its running a Raid 0 for 2 10K RPM drives. All my servers have crappy speed when it pertains to windows file transfer. I do use linux also but I'm not as proficient with it so I focus right now only on Windows. My new servers are R540's one with full SSD's the other with 4 SAS 10K RPM hdd's. Only the full ssd host is in production. XCP-NG is installed on a BOSS ssd.
Just for reference, my home server is a Dell R220 and a R710. I've installed XCP-NG on everything you can imagine, still same issue. Bottleneck of Windows and I did confirm on my R710 it does use a broadcom nic.
I have a 10G and a 12G Dell in production at work, and an older HP server at home, all with XCP-ng. None of them have storage speed issues. Mix of thin and thick, too. I definitely prefer thin.
I hate to say this, because it seems obvious, but are you transferring millions of tiny files? Because that is always slow AF.
What Brand and Model of server is it? There is a Dell BIOS "system profile" setting that could be crushing your performance that looks like it was the default setting on some 12G servers. DAPC specifically.

We've been playing this game a ton. It's actually way more fun than I imagined it would be. We created a save for my son that we cheated and gave like a billion dollars to just so we can buy all the equipment and play with it... and I started a legit save for myself last night after the kids were asleep lol

If you're talking about iOS, I'll agree with you - if you could afford an iPhone in the first place, then you can afford to upgrade - if you can't, well, then you shouldn't have been on an iPhone in the first place.
Unlocked iPhone 4s, $21 buy it now on eBay with free shipping... seems pretty reasonable to me. The whole stigma that iPhones are only for rich people is weak.
Sure if you want the brand new flagship phone, it's expensive. But the same goes for Android phones. Pixel 4 starts at $999, brand new iPhone 11 starts at $699... $300 less :man_shrugging:

Wow, i stood no chance. wbu @Supreme_Overlord ?
You're trying to buy tickets to MCR - What did you expect?
you got me there. i tried 3 different states same result. Ticketmaster sucks.
The new TicketMaster method is effing ridiculous. Why tf would you show me a million tickets and by the time I click on one, the page reloads, and it's already gone. It's a totally random shit show. I've missed out on a few concerts lately because of this piece of shit system. Give me the old method where you reserve my tickets (that are actually available), based on my place in line, and I have 4 minutes to decide if I want them or not...

2FA is available.
It's setup now. I don't think I've ever even logged in after initially creating my account there. :man_shrugging: I'm pretty sure it had a crazy old password that was almost certainly compromised. It must have been years ago, since I've been using lastpass for like 3+ years now.

Finally bought RDR2 and have been playing Online a bit. There is no greater feeling than spawning into a session just to immediately get shot in the head, told your username is stupid, and called a pussy by someone who sounds like their father and uncle are the same person. Game looks great though! Really loving the hunting & fishing aspect.
I haven't played online and I only have about 4 hours into the story mode... but I'm not loving it so far. Everything feels really clunky to me for some reason. I'm not used to holding a certain key vs. tapping it for a different result. I also hate how slow looting is; I understand it's intentionally that way, but I still don't like it. It's a beautiful game, and I want to love it, but it might just not be the right game for me.
