    • RE: What was your first live concert?

My first one was Van Halen, which is also my all-time favorite band. The whole night was awesome but I kept waiting for Jump and they never played it. They went off stage and I was kinda disappointed but then they came back out (I was young and it was my first show - I knew nothing of an encore) and absolutely killed it with that song.

      Best night ever!

I've been to somewhere around 120 concerts at this point and I still remember how awesome that moment was when I thought they were some and then hears that opening keyboard.

Anything even remotely video game related, I will gladly take. And it will be loved and cherished alongside all its friends and family in my game room.

I live out in the country so I would recommend doing what a lot of people out here do - but trail cameras. It's just a fancy name for motion-activated cameras. They have a range of X and if anything moves in that range, they start recording and store all the footage in an SD card. You can get fairly decent ones for pretty reasonable prices at any sporting goods store or right on Amazon.

They are really tiny too with good picture quality. You can hang them just about anywhere. A family member has 10-12 of them on his property.

That is what I am looking for, but wired into a storage system in the house.

You may be able to find some of those as well. To stay on the low-cost side of it, search for trail cameras, not surveillance cameras. People in marketing know they can charge more for home security than they can for deer tracking so they price accordingly, even if both products are the same except for the label.

I'm trying. It would just most likely require a big move to find something comparable in pay but better in environment. Probably out-of-state.

@scottalanmiller No, every day is like this. Today I'm just talking about it.

@scottalanmiller Oh, I am sure a lot of people feel that way. But until I do find a new job, or the winning lotto ticket so I can focus on finally opening my game store, I have to deal with it and not say anything negative about them. Or at least not with any proper nouns. 😄

    • RE: MangoCon Is official!

@Minion-Queen Yeah, hectic would be a very under-stated way of describing my life lately. Trying to start a videography business, working on a game review website, managing several youtube channels, I moved a few months back, and I still have my full-time job that I hate... Apparently I decided some time early this year that I was allergic to free time.

    • RE: Strong Museum of Play: Video game Exhibit

I finally got to go to Strong recently and I was actually disappointed by the video game exhibit. I know they bought a gigantic private collection recently and even have one of 10 known copies of Tengen Tetris for Sega Genesis (one of the rarest games out there) and yet, the vast majority of the games they have are being stored in the basement of the building. They have very little on display. I have a better game display in my game room than they have.

Also, they have an impressive array of arcade machines but are using them as a cash grab and have not put them on Free Play. Considering they already charge extra for the carousel and the butterfly garden (worth it, by the way) charging the few quarters for each arcade/pinball machine just seems like a dick move.

Speaking of things to see in Western NY worth seeing, has anyone mentioned the Planetarium in Rochester? It's always fun to see the star show projected up on the dome. Alternatively, if you're near Buffalo, not Rochester, head up to Niagara Falls (the town, not the natural wonder) in NY and there is an Aquarium there that is somewhat small, but very enjoyable.

You're weird if you like heat... heat makes you sweat which makes you feel disgusting...

Cold is both refreshing and cleansing!

Arizona. When I lived there, it was always hot, but because it was so dry there was very little sweating and stickiness.

LOL - It's suppose to hit -20 here in Kentucky...

Been there, done that. I started moving boxes into my new apartment the other night. It was -30. -30! To put that into perspective, that is 62 degrees below freezing. The difference in temperature between a 94 degree day and a freshly made ice cube is the same difference that is between said ice cube and the temperature I just had to carry half my belongings through.

TL;DR: NY sucks in every possible way during the winter.

Also, my inability to take nearly anything seriously. Life is far too short to be taken seriously.
