No Outbound calls even TRUNK is registered

@scottalanmiller what exactly do you want to know? I can check with them

Well, who has the soft switch and who has the proxy, for example. Is one or both or neither of these on your network?
-
@scottalanmiller They are Telco company and they provide me the SIP account even the proxy. I am the party that is owning FreePBX server (soft switch) and use their SIP account from them. This is a direct route connection.

Okay. Let's only call FreePBX, FreePBX or the PBX. It is a soft switch but calling it that at random makes it sound like you have another soft switch in front of your PBX. That makes things way clearer. no one calls FreePBX their soft switch, even if that is the technology under the hood, because its role is as your PBX, not a generic switch.
Why is there a proxy at the telco side that you need to know about? Shouldn't you just connect directly to their proxy as if that is all that their is and they take care of the rest? If they need you to manage setting up their proxy, something seems wrong.
-
Just to explain why calling it a soft switch is confusing...
- You PBX is a soft switch
- The telco's proxy is a soft switch
- The telco's telephony backplane is a soft switch
- Your soft phone might be a soft switch
- If you had your own proxy, it would be a soft switch
Just in this conversation alone, the term soft switch could refer to five different pieces of equipment. But PBX refers to only one.
-
@scottalanmiller. Now I understood
-
@Jimmy_K. What they provided me here is
The number: 123456789
Proxy server IP: 11.22.33.44
Port: 5061
Password: xxxxxxx -
5061 is a different port number than before.
-
@scottalanmiller . Because of security reason, hence they do provide a different port as 50xx and my freePBX has port 5060

Changing ports is never for security. That's "security through obscurity" which is the opposite of security. If anything, that should concern you that they don't understand how security works.
But my point was that they provided one port but you were trying to use a different one.
-
In X-Lite you did not specify any port at all. So it would default to 5060 and that worked.
-
@scottalanmiller Provider of this SIP account , they don't have any format of setting Peer Details in TRUNK account. Also, right now I have tried to change to the port 5060, however it still doesn't work at all
-
@Jimmy_K Now the TRUNK is " Unreachable ", I have tried with all configuration, however, I still remain the worst situation. Do you have any idea Sottlalan?
-
Okay, so sounds like the port number originally there was needed.
-
@scottalanmiller Good day Scotta.
-
@scottalanmiller I just changed the port to 50xx, not 5060 and the TRUNK is " Registered " with a status " OK ", however, I can't make outbound call.
What I have seen from the log as below:
WARNING[4668][C-000000b4]: chan_sip.c:23220 handle_response_invite: Received response: "Forbidden" fromDo I need to change the bidding port and ( Sip port, Outbound proxy port ) of IP Phone to 50xx, instead of keep it as default 5060?
-
The phone is connected to the PBX, as long as the phone can call the PBX, don't change the phone. The phone is not part of the issue.
-
@scottalanmiller Sure. I will not change it so now the issue is only from PBX server, I think so
-

Correct, as long as you can dial from extension to extension using the soft phone, then we only need to work on the PBX to get things fixed. the phone is talking to the PBX so the configuration changes there are complete.

@scottalanmiller Hi Scottlan,
I still can make internal call between extension & extension. Actually, everything is working fine. Only the SIP account from this provider is unique since I can't make outbound call when the TRUNK is registered
