My boss will never approve a expense to a person. How does he know I am not splitting the money with @Minion-Queen, and take taking a couple of paided days off lol
This is year one - There is quite a bit of work, planning and background tasks involved. An invoice should work fine with receipt. That is the reason you have both.

This is a great point. My boss really likes an official flier, but printout from the website have been allowable.
Little things to keep working on for the future.
Expect more for next year. That is what evolution is about. It gets better over time (like a good scotch or brandy).

I have two business Paypal accounts and I can send money to friends and family without any fees. The biggest advantage to a business account is the PayPal debit card. You get 1% rewards and you can use your PayPal balance without waiting for it to deposit in your bank account.
-
P.S. I refuse to pay with Square. A Mangolassi member ripped me off using square and they wouldn't refund me. I know Paypal is always handles it's disputes well.

Heck of a scam for $100...does he think you are that dishonest? I'm not sure that's the issue.

Fees don't always have anything to do with who is handling it. I don't get charged for using my Debit card when I go to stores. But if I use it as a credit card, there is a 2 -3% fee. Generally it's by choice to be paid by the sell or passed on to the buyer. That is common practice.

A lot of gas stations charge a higher rate (basically a per gallon fee) for using a CC over cash.

You know, you could argue that some conferences your entrance fee isn't for the conference or training but just you purchasing the swag bag

I have no idea which specific conference you are referring to, My mind is blank.

I can't make the conference but I am interested in partaking in the scam, if you could PM me some more details @Minion-Queen

Which scam would you like more information on, the money splitting or the purchasing of the swag bag? I find that the later is surprisingly more popular.

I know a man in Nigeria you should talk to...Give me your email address, home address, bank details, security questions and I will tell him to transfer....1 million dollars.

To be fare, the one literal bag from that conference has been my best laptop backpack for about seven years. So even if the entire cost of the conference went to buying that bag it would have been a reasonable company expense. It finally died this spring. I seriously used that thing like every day!

Someone should point out that we have derailed. I think that @aaronstuder had a valid question about the CC vs. bank transfer fees but I am not entirely sure what he was looking for. I would suggest the bank transfer option when it is available as it is less costly. CCs suck for a lot of reasons and PP makes them such more. If you have the PNC Bank direct option, that's great. I would do that. A lot of companies just don't care about fees at that scale and will use the CC for ease of use internally and PP capitalizes on that, sadly. but they pay fees to Visa and MC for that as well, so they don't make out all that much.

I think his concern was that his company would not approve a payment of a conference fee to a specific person.

I don't think so as he posted two pictures, and the only difference between them was the fee and he highlighted that to draw our attention to it. Nothing about the name was brought up. Look at his two pictures... I'm 99% sure he's looking at the fee difference. Just not sure if he is asking a question or just letting people know how to save a few bucks or if he needed something done.

That's because she's using a non business account - and because you want to use a CC you get to pay the CC fee.
If she had a business account, you would have zero fee, and she would have a fee no matter how you pay.

I think you can always send money a feeless way, it's recieving money into a business account that isn't free, unless the sender picks you as a friends and family, but even then, the business still might pay a fee on receipt.

Uhm, someone ALWAYS pays those CC fees. If you process enough they'll give you a discounted fee rate, but you always pay those fees.
-
Here is a way to think of it... the conference is $206, not $200 but there is a $6 discount for not paying with a CC.

I am taking no sides, just saying I think this is what started it all.
Then he said to enroll a business account.
And the ball got rolling.
