Proxy IP Resolving but name not resolving??

I having proxy server with me for accessing intranet and internet sites.
When I used to use proxyX.xxx.com means the intranet and internet sites not working but the IP of the same proxyX.xxx.com is working.
What may be the issue in resolving with the name??
How to check the issue present with the proxy?
Telnet for the proxy is working for the port number i am using.
But the name is not able to use for accessing the sites.??? -
Sounds like a DNS issue to me.

DNS is also changed and checked but after the DNS ip changed also the same issue continues.

I'm unclear what you are describing as the issue. Are you saying that you cannot reach the proxy itself by hostname? That you cannot resolve URLs while using the proxy?

I can telnet the proxy name and IP.But the IP can only be used browsing purpose.I have already used the name the proxy for browsing purpose

But why would you use the name of the proxy when browsing? You are not explaining what the user is doing. Maybe a screenshot would help? You don't browse TO the proxy, you browse THROUGH a proxy. It sounds like the issue is in misuse of the browser rather than a technical issue.
