Gaming - What's everyone playing / hosting / looking to play

If you like FF, Square Enix' The Last Remnant is on Steam for cheap as well. $5 I think.
-
I think I'll keep waiting for 9 to come out for PC. The Android edition is $21!
I'd pay that for the PC version. In the mean time, I'll keep using epsxe. It fits the bill quite nicely.

Yeah, games on Android are ridiculously over priced. If you play any amount of games, you can afford a PC gaming rig from the cost savings on the games alone!

Google Rewards are a lifesaver ;D

I'm also very hopeful that the ChronoTrigger and Seiken Densetsu series will come to Steam. Since a new remake of Seiken Densetsu for iOS and Android came out a few weeks ago, there is hope that the Final Fantasy side story will get a new life on new platforms.

Hopefully that won't be just a port though. I can't remember the name but they had a turn based 40k game that was supposed to be akin to FF Tactics but it fell horribly short as it was the same game they put on iOS. Made it very basic unfortunately.

I think the was Space Hulk, you played a group of Space Marines against a group of Tyranids.

I didn't know that Square Enix had any association with the WH40K people.

They are publishing the Eternal Crusade MMO. I don't think they had anything to do with Space Hulk.

Didnt they do Dawn of War 2? I know THQ did the first one...2nd one was terrible compared to first - 1st was AoE-style RTS with buildings etc, 2nd was turn based combat...
-
@NattNatt Nope, apparently that was THQ too...
-
They just have you pick a region, and I do US West. But the in-game party system makes it easy to get in on the new game, add me ( creaytor, picture of Harrison Ford as the profile image ) and we'll Dota down!

@NattNatt If you really want rid of it, I suppose I could put it to good use... you know, just so it wont expire. Is it a text code or do we have to exchange it through steam?
exchange through steam, it's an item in my inventory! About to go home now, but send me a Friend Req and i'll send it over (http://steamcommunity.com/id/NattNatt_main/)

The original Dawn of War was an amazing copy cat. It didn't do anything revolutionary but it did everything it copied very well. Dawn of War 2... well it didn't fit my tastes. DoW2 was a tactical, squad based RTS similar to Company of Heroes, which was also made by THQ, and I know a lot of people who loved it. I just couldn't get into it.

Yeah, exactly how I felt - DoW + expansions was AoE in the W40K universe and it just worked so well! Was really excited for DoW2, bought it, played it twice and haven't touched it again...such a let down

Just introduced my girls to Final Fantasy III. They are loving it.
-
Spent yesterday with my girls all day. First we played nearly all the way through Dear Esther. Then we played something like ten hours of Final Fantasy III, which is their first real time playing a JRPG. Then an hour or two on Puzzler World, a few minutes of Puzzle Agent and then wrapped up with a few hours of Robin's Quest. Serious "camp out in the game room and snuggle as a family" day for me and the kids.

In case anyone hasn't seen/realised - there's a MASSIVE Eidos Anthology sale on Steam at the moment, 34 Games, plus all DLC for £23.99 (not sure what it'll be in USD)

It's a sub-section of the Square-Enix Publisher sale which is HUGEMONGOUS. Tons of stuff on sale from Japan.

Which Final Fantasy 2? The Japanese version or the American Version (which is actually Final Fantasy 4 if you go by the Japanese numbering, lol).
I just realized, you know, because I grew up on the border and our nearest big city was Canadian, not American, I was not affected by weird US rebranding the way that people from farther from the border would have been. We were seeing five FF games on the market by 1992. So there wasn't a sudden surprise when they were released to the US much later.
