All of the latest Nancy Drew games have finally made it to Steam in the last three weeks.
-
Agatha Christie the ABC Murders on Steam on Linux. Had it with us and loaded up so played it with Luciana and she loves watching it.

Gosh if I had the time to play games, I'd be back on Fallout 4. Last game I truly gave time to was ALIEN: Isolation...what an experience that was.
I got to watch several hours of Alien: Isolation when my SIL played it. Seemed really good.
If anyone is a fan of the original ALIEN, this game rocks...it was so effective that I've yet to replay it because it was so intense.
I love the original, always was a big fan of Ridley Scott's work.
Slightly off topic but I am both excited and nervous about the new ALIEN film that he is directing. Prometheus was both a good and bad movie. I hope this new Alien film isn't a gorefest and has a good story. The last trailer and the CGI Alien at the end has me nervous.
What are the complaints about Prometheus?
I feel the same. High points, and some weird stuff and didn't carry it completely. Good promise, though.
Couldn't have said it better myself about Prometheus. Loved how it started...David studying what it means to be human, Shaw's faith, the memories of her Dad, the holograms in the ship...but then just kind of falls apart when the two guys get lost in the ship and decide to touch the worm thing, reanimating that head, the incoherent results of the early mutations, Shaw running around after a C-Section, the Engineers being nothing more than bad guys at the end and then we get a "proto-facehugger" and the Deacon alien at the end. The writing suffered...I hope ALIEN: Covenant covers some of the good things about Prometheus.
So it turns out that I'm wrong. How I interpreted the movie was discredited by the director in an interview for Alien: Covenant. Unsure if it will be a good movie, but I want to know what direction they are going in

The five year old is asking for this one again tonight.

I started on The Witness over the weekend. The puzzles are good and challenging. I haven't figured out some of the puzzle types yet, but I've managed to light two beacons.

The new Zelda game has been eating my brains for the last week or so. It is likely to continue to do so for rather a while yet.

I've been eyeing that one.

Humble Bundle Monthly is where I got it - $12 for their subscription service. If you like puzzles then this is a good one.
-
I may dabble in No Man's Sky occasionally now that there's been some new content implemented recently.
Base building, freighters, land vehicles, etc...
I'm really liking it (though, I've liked it since it came out).
-
Went to PAX East over the weekend. I don't think I'm the target audience anymore. Obviously I'm the one that's changed but I don't remember it being all advertisement and little substance before.

@coliver I did notice a reduction in quality last year but that event is more about seeing friends from all over the country for me. Couldn't go this year.

I got a last minute Sunday ticket for dirt cheap. The board game section, which I normally go for, was probably 1/3 the size this year then it was last (which was 1/2 the size of previous years). The expo hall layout was hard to understand and get around, mostly because they were cramming more exhibitors in.
My brother and I are going to try and hit up the PAX Unplugged event in Philly, that's dedicated to board games so hopefully that will be a nice change.

You ever go to GenCon? I have a lot of board game fanatic friends that go every year. Sounds right up your alley. It is in Indiana I think though

No, that's been on the list for a few years. PAX East was just so much more accessible for us.

Yeah it sounds like it. If you aren't enjoying yourself though maybe it's becoming the better option. From what I hear it's absolutely insane.

Yep, I am probably going to volunteer to run some games for one of the companies I follow in the near future. That will comp the ticket then I just need to get there and pay for a hotel.

Gencon is huge and fun. Worth trying at least once if you are into that scene.
Checking out some of the smaller regional/local cons might be worth while as well. Dexcon in NJ was one of my favorites when I lived out there. Been ages since my last one though so I'm not sure what quality is like these days.
Edited because phone.

Hm, I can't seem to locate an online presence for Dexcon. What part of NJ is that? I competed for years in Street Fighter and I used to go to a lot of majors for it. not a stranger to going to tournaments. It's a fun time.

Dexposure.com is the site for the group that runs it. The do a lot of other events as well. Dreamation is the other one of theirs that I have been to. Largely the same thing as Dexcon. They run them at about a six month interval.
