What Are You Currently Reading Outside of Tech

I just started reading "Harry Potter and the Philospher's Stone" to the kids. It is their first long form novel of this nature that we are going to make it all of the way through. We are over halfway as it is now, and they are really enjoying it. Read for almost three hours last night! I've not read this book in print (rather than the Book on CD) since Dominica and I were first dating around 2002.

Finished reading "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" to the kids tonight. Just in time for me to go out of town. We will be starting the next book in the series when I get back.
-
I'm working my way through the Frostborn series. On book 6 of um... 15, I think.
-
I'm looking for a new series to read. Thinking of starting the "Old Man's War" series.
Curious as to the extent of book available via Kindle Unlimited. I could easily make that subscription fee back every month.
-
Starting "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" with the kids tonight. I am hoping to finish reading it with them before I am out of town for a very long time and don't get to see them.
-
@scottalanmiller I bet that your kids are loving that. This is their first time?

First time through the books, yes. The youngest has never seen the movies and the eldest has seen them, but cannot remember them. So effectively, it is the first time in every sense.

We plan to do a movie marathon once all of the books are completed.
-
I seem to be on an Ian Banks kick lately. Read Transition and Against a dark Background recently and now I'm on The Hydrogen Sonata.
-
I just started into the Honor Harrington series by David Weber.
Pretty good, actually. -
We will finish our latest Harry Potter book tonight. I leave for two weeks starting tomorrow, so have to finish it. We were up till 4am reading it last night!

I started it because I saw 10 books. Hopefully, it stays interesting for a while.

You can download most of David Weber's books (and a few other Baen authors) for free, and legally at http://ebooks.thefifthimperium.com/. Up until a few years ago he included all of his Baen published works on a CD that came with the hardcovers.

I've been a big supporter of David Weber through the years because he did/does that.

I should've noted how giving away his books on cdrom got me to actually purchase his books. How this is not a basic business option taught all over the place I have no idea.

Bedtime reading.... Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets with the kids.

Just noticed that this thread has a negative rating. Really? Seems like an odd thing for people to be opposed to.

Last night we started reading The Prisoner of Azkaban.
