The driver of an 18-wheeler was able to stop before also hitting the pedestrian Thursday and then used his truck to block traffic while he performed CPR on the victim, news outlets reported.

SNS Outfitter & Guides shared a photo of the gash on their Facebook over the weekend. An engineer told SNS that the crack was caused by a wet spring and is about 750 yards long by 50 yards wide.
