no, they are expecting you to have a Passive on from the WISPs AP. It needs to be Passive 24v.

Sorry, I don't understand. They expect you to power it from a AP?
I will be using this with a UniFi AP, will that help? Is the only way to power this POE?
-
Oh, I think I see now. So can I use the POE Injector from my UniFi AP to power the router and AP?

Yes, you use to PoE injector that came with the AP, plug it in to the PoE in port, and then put the AP on the PoE out port and it will power both. Which model of the AP do you have? It needs to be the UAP basic model not the Pro or UAP-AC. Maybe not even the LR. It's gotta be the passive one with 24v 12w.

You power this router with the same PoE injector that comes with the Unifi AP line.
This router then passes that power through to the AP also assuming you put the AP on pass-though port.

The very basic one, was like $50 on Amazon, that seems to be the correct one, right?

Yeah.

So I guess I am all set. I don't know how I ordered this, and didn't know it was POE!
-
LOL, how did you miss that? That's what the unit is all about! We were all pretty surprised when you went for it.
-
As I plan to use this with a Ubiquiti AP while traveling, looks like it might be perfect.

Well, since I already own the AP, it works out well for me
-
And I realized that it had POE pass thought, but I didn't realize POE was a requirement to power the router

You can use a DC adapter, it's just not included, although some websites say it is. UBNT's site says it isn't.

No worries mate, it's Amazon

So Ubiquiti makes a affordable Enterprise Grade AP and Router, but the switchers are kinda pricey for home use, and I don't need that many ports.
Any suggestions for a affordable new gigabyte switch to go with the router?
