Pertino and Shoretel
-
I know I could spend time to find the answer myself (and normally I would) but I don't have the extra time right now...
Does anyone work with the Shoretel VOIP system? I'm trying to find a way to set up our softphones from Shoretel server to people in the field. They are currently connecting through a stonegate VPN appliance. I'm trying to find out if there's a way to cut stonegate out and use Pertino.... just don't know how well Pertino would fit in this scenario...
Any suggestions?

Only if you can install Pertino on the Shortel system. Pertino does not currently have a gateway appliance. This means only solutions where you can install the Pertino VPN client can do what you want....
And as I wrote that I asked myself, what about ICS on a windows machine? I wonder if you could setup Internet Connection Sharing from a Windows PC and have the Shortel machine use that machine as your gateway? I'm sure ultimately this wouldn't be what you want, but might be a temporary solution.

As @Dashrender said, you would need to install Pertino on the Shoretel server. If you can do that, then you can make it work.
You can of course do some gateway like services with a Windows box or a Linux box that is running Pertino. I have never done it but there should be no reason it does not work. Because the OS is handling the connection routing.

Shortel Runs on Wind River Linux which should work if Pertino has a RPM Package

It does. They maintain a full repo for easy updates.
