This looks like something I'd use to get fish bait in the areas of my yard where the grass grows the thickest.

@dafyre I don't know where that pic really came from, but that is a sawn-off "Rock Band" drumstick with a silly metal plate jammed on the tip and dents cross-drilled over the edge of it or something. You can see the "R" from where it says Rock Band. lol

It's a pic of a little kid's toy that he wrote a story about.

I have no idea what it does to be honest. I just though the kids version of it was funny.

@art_of_shred Details details... I still call it useful for fish bait, lol... It doesn't make such a good drum stick now.

I'd never even played Rockband, I don't think.... or Guitar Hero, lol.

I love that one for sure. The original movie was great too.

When you use the other non-ribbed drumstick on it by rubbing it up and down, it causes vibration to go up the drumstick and make the metal piece spin.

By holding the drumstick a certain way, you can cause the spin to reverse because it changes the wave of the vibrations.

Did you guys never have one of these as kids? I did in the 70's.

I have never seen one before this, and I was pointing out that this was obviously homemade. I was also questioning the link between the story and the photo. The story seems legit, but did this pic actually belong with the story, or was it some random image found with Google that was attached to it? You just can't be sure anymore. If you are familiar with such a thing, I guess that makes a decent confirmation that the "vibrate stick" in the story is actually this fluted drumstick with a metal plate jammed onto it. Who would have guessed? lol

@art_of_shred I remember those. One of those things little kids used to get or make. Just a cheap country toy. Never saw many of them but I definitely remember these from early elementary school days.

I played drums, so if I had drumsticks, they were just that: drumsticks.
