I've not looked at them. One of the directors got a email from a regional sales person about a phone call.

No one did that I know of. It was just a email. But having not heard of them before, wondered if anyone else had.
It's not something I'm interested in.... but was curious if anyone had heard of them.

Just by the nature of that email this is not someone I would ever, EVER do business with. That "when can we schedule a time to talk" line is an immediate "never getting our business" move. No professional software ( or any other) kind of firm will ever pull that. Email advertising is questionable at best, but that pushy, ridiculous move is overdone and out of the question. We get a few of those from debt collection and marketing firms all of the time. Guarantees they will never get to speak to us.
I would avoid these people based on that alone. That they don't do any clear task is pretty big too. You should never have to sit down with a sales person to discover what software does. Can't imagine any scenario where they would ever be worth considering for anything.

I agree - that type of message just tells me that I don't want to partner with you. But it is a form of cold calling...

I've had Sharefile do this to me (and three other people at my office) twice now. I can't stand this marketing tactic...

It sure is, something that we block completely. There is good and bad cold calling, though. If you cold call me and ask to speak to me, I'm not going to be pissed, I'll just hang up. But if you cold call and demand to set something up rather than politely asking if we can.... we are done and you are actively blocked and will never get our business.
There is legitimate sales and downright unprofessional "never do business with them" sales. A company doing these tactics definitely does not believe in their own product and is trying to get sales through an intimidation style rather than through presenting a good product.
