Mint 17.1 Can't Use Terminal via Xrdp

So when using Linux Mint 17.1 over Xrdp (in Cinnamon Fallback Mode) I am able to open the terminal without any problem. And it runs fine. However...
Anytime that I hit the "s" key while typing in the terminal it is captured and opens the start menu (the applications dropdown) instead. Obviously this keeps me from running commands like "sudo" and "shutdown." It is a little bit problematic.

"Tab" and "d" keys are captured too. Argh.
