Linux Desktop Environment

@JaredBusch Yes. Seems to be a common thing.
-
@jmoore I have tried to help users like this but they are so stuck in their ways, it does no good.

I'm running Pop_OS with Gnome. Over the last several months Gnome has grown on me.
-
@EddieJennings I've stuck with Fedora for a while now. I'm too lazy to "distro hop" and had some strange issues with Ubuntu on some of my HP machines. Haven't tried any other distro in a couple years. Definitely not Pop_OS. Apparently Arch is pretty popular now but I still won't switch any time soon.

I've distro-hopped back and forth between Pop_OS and Fedora. On my Lemur Pro, Fedora takes a good 10 extra seconds from boot to logged in, and I'm spoiled

@EddieJennings I thought about buying one of their laptops but I will probably just buy a Dell/HP and load Fedora. Still can't decide.

I'm pleased with it. I also want to support their company, though I truly do feel more at home with an RPM-based distro

Is that brand comparable to Dell Latitude or Precision? Wife wants a new laptop soon so I have to decide on something. Was thinking about trying System 76.

Gnome all day everyday.

I actually try whatever comes default on the distro I use. So far, my favorites are Budgie and Whichever one it is that ships with Elementary OS.
-
I like the ones where you can change everything and pick out exactly what you want and put it where you want. Because I don't like anyone's default settings.
I used to run Gnome 2, XFCE and LXDE. For users now we put Ubuntu with Gnome 3 on every machine but I haven't actually tried to see if it's still 100% configurable. My guess is that it isn't.

I am on Kubuntu 20.04, hadn't use plasma in a loooong time and I am really liking it currently.

I use GNOME 3 pretty much no matter what it is. Every so often I'll use i3, but I really like GNOME.

I use Gnome 3, but only out of standardizing. I actually prefer most other options. Cinnamon just calls to me a lot.
