So we had an emergency need and so I was tasked with building a full, production ownCloud 7.0.1 server last night and this morning and populating it with a fair amount of data. That took me all last evening and much of today to get it all working as it should be, user accounts added, etc. Now it is working great.

Decided that since Suse is the host of the project files and the only platform with ownCloud built in that that would be the logical way to go. Plus Suse is almost always my first pick for storage needs anyway. So OpenSuse 13.1 as the base OS.

I have to say, ownCloud is really slick. Easy to use and quite powerful. I am very impressed.

I have been migrating my stuff to my new server and have not gotten to the point of turning up a new server to test this on yet, glad to hear this. It is on my list of things to do.

Yes, not quite all of the data is copied yet, but that's just a copy job that is running. System is up and running and working great. Have it on several computers around the country already and I have it on my iPhone for testing too. Really nice program.

I was really impressed that OwnCloud already works on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS.

Install Suse and go. Wish that I has documented the specific Apache setup but OC itself was a breeze.

Just found out that our installation is growing by six users today, twenty this month and anticipated one to three thousand this year!!

Now that you have had a few days with it, how is it?

I installed it on CentOS 7 yesterday. Need to wipe that install and do it again with a secondary drive attached to map the data folder to.

I did the setup using the local LAN IP and now anytime I visit via the proper URL it always asks me to setup the URL as a trusted domain which I did. Annoying. Not too worried about it because I knew I would wipe it and start over anyway. But still.

Edit: Need to fix my Wordpress install to use the correct permalinks sometime today.. I hate the page id.

@JaredBusch if you go into the config file fixing the LAN IP is trivial. Easiest config file ever.
