Investigating Forestry.io for Static Site Generators
-
@JasGot asked if I had looked at them so I am testing it out now. First thing that I noticed is that the pricing sounds crazy. I do several websites, I make free ones for people regularly, and the pricing because I have more than ten sites is supposedly $750/mo but if I only have three sites, it is free. That's quite a leap and it is just a simple web GUI, I'm unclear why you'd pay more than maybe $1/mo for it and even that, I'd be wary to pay.
But getting a free account to see if I am missing something.

First note... the Hugo version is several steps behind. At home I work with 0.61 but Forestry only goes up to 0.59.1. Not a huge deal, but as a shop that specializes in this, why is it behind the Ubuntu built in version? They've not updated Forestry since October.

Minor compared to being $750 a month, LOL.

Netlify has a UI that you can build into your project. I haven't personally used them but they are a pretty popular static site host. From what I remember, the UI is just a single bit of javascript you add to your project.
