Solved Windows 10 Reboots
-
Got a Windows 10 Pro PC that has been rebooting randomly through out the last month or so 3x at a time .
What i mean by that is it will reboot 3 times, then be good for maybe 10 hours and do it again.
We updated active hours and now it doesn't do it during the day, for the most part.
Still reboots randomly through out the day (when he did a "refresh" of the POS to update new data. )System logs only say that the PC rebooted - for the 3, no other information at those times.
I unflagged "automatically restart" in system> advance settings> startup and recovery.
Still rebooting after ours 3 times.
I'm very confused with this issue.
Any ideas?

So it was not a windows issue - It was the software running two or more instances of our mobile software at one time after a refresh.
What was happening was the software would restart, then try to open 2 or more at the same time causing the system to error and restart to try to clear it it's self.
Made changes to the settings in the system config files and have tested with 3 different refreshes today - It has not rebooted once.
Thanks for all the help with figuring this one out. I think i've gained a wealth of knowledge from this thread. -

Could the BIOS be shutting down the computer? trying to get into a low power state to aggressively?

Maybe I'll check that next if this doesn't fix it.

Does it still happen while in safe mode?

Update all drivers from the PC manufacturer to their latest Win10 drivers. If they don't have Win10 drivers, downgrade to 8.1 or 7, or but a new PC.
