A regular desire that we seem to have is the ability to "call out" from a FreePBX conference room. I have no idea how this would work and am pretty sure that it can't be done, but before I give up I'll see if anyone (cough cough @JaredBusch ) has found a way to do this.

Basically we regularly need to do conference calls, but with a customer brought into the conference room because either they don't know how to dial a conference bridge (seriously) or just expect to be dialed in for everything. If we had this working, we'd do it all of the time.

I know that I can do things from my desk phone like call into a conf bridge, then call a person, and combine them. But that's not nearly as fluid and only works with certain phones.

Could you create some real custom context to let this work? Likely. I would not.

Instead, if you need to get someone into a conference room, use a warm transfer to get it done.

Hit transfer, hit the conference extension, dial the participant code, speak their name, hit the transfer button again. The idiot will be in the conference.

Then you can dial back in yourself.

I've tried that, always seem to get stuck with the "enter a code" issue.

You are going to force me to test those instructions aren't you?

Tested what I typed above.. Works perfectly.
