Suggested vendor for selling used equipment?
-
I'm looking to sell around 150 Meraki APs/antennas and accessories. Some of them are used and some are actually still in the box. Does anyone have suggestions for companies to sell this too? I know a lot of people here have gotten rid of Meraki gear.
-
No clue. Bcause of the licensing,, I would not even know where to start.

Agreed - the hardware has barely any value except to someone who is already using the system because of the huge required licensing costs.
-
Melt them down for the copper?

Same here, seems like the value would be essentially zero.
-
All of the cost is in the licensing. Can't fathom any company willing to pay anything for Meraki gear not under warranty, directly from Cisco. It would make no sense.
-
Here at least, we dont generally consider selling old equipment because of tax reasons and depreciation.

Not to mention huge effort for tiny return.

Current price for scrap copper in Georgia is $3.73/lb. Likely a better monetary return than selling them.

Except the work to get the copper out is not worth it
-
I dump all used electronics on a small town PC repair shop.
The local scrappers come and take it all, no charge. Then they spend their time tearing the shit apart for the metals.

- build fire, 2) toss in APs, 3) after fire dies out, find the shiny. Pretty easy.

- Not in Georgia. No open space to burn shit with toxic fumes.

Yeah, nobody in GA does this ever. oh wait, yes they do. All the time. This is how scrappers get the copper. I've watched it with my own eyes, done by a "recycling company".

Sorry, meant I'm not in Georgia. I have no place to do this.
Also I wouldn't. I like breathing.
But yeah, I know 100% that is exactly what these guys do

It's certainly not something I'd do in my own yard or anything... but the county fire marshal lives across the street from me. And I bet the Cisco-ness would make the fumes extra toxic.

I've got really strange offers from 1500-6500. I really don't know how people plan on making any money on these.

They wanted $97 for one year license on MR32s. At least a three year old AP.
