What Does Your Home Lab and Office Look Like?
-
@Hubtech I don't have a server rack in my home office. It looks like a leprechaun vomited IKEA in here.
There are multiple IKEA pieces, most of which are green. -
I will have to get you a pic once I clean (it really, really needs it). I have a office with built in desks in half the room and an executive desk that takes up the other half. And the servers are down stairs in a office in my basement. Those are being put in soon.
-
@Hubtech You have seen my setup, no?
-
Nope, never seen it.
-
My office is also our homeschool room so it's a mess of school stuff and projects. Scott also steals my desk when he gets home, so it's not ideal.
-
Well, aren't we a dirty lame bunch. I'm trying to pick up a few cheap old dirty nasty servers to put in my rack along with a few lil catalyst switches and an ASA.
-
I have empty boxes and paperwork stacked everywhere... someday it will be clean again.
-
If you have as many monitors as A.J. does I would be pretty impressed.
-
@NetworkNerd Very true.
-
@ajstringham well let's see em
-
Once we can post pics I will get some up. The NTG people tend not to have super exciting home environments anymore because the company is putting in an enterprise lab for everyone to use. Like the most epic home lab ever.

Seeing if HTML works. Otherwise, I don't see how to embed an image in the post. @hubtech

No picture support yet? Darn, I just took a good one of my desk.
Well, the important things are:- An artist proof MtG card, signed, with hand-drawn alternate art covering the back of the card (worth more than the PC itself.)
- A printer I've used exactly once
- Pictures of my niece and nephew to remind me that kids are cute when they aren't mine and aren't always in my house wrecking my stuff.
- D&D books I, sadly, never get to use.
- Cards against Humanity (because duh!)
- a few model Corvettes
- a yo-yo for when I'm brain dead and too lazy to get away from my desk.
- My NAS full of movies, music, TV shows, random YouTube videos I've downloaded to save time having to look them up, and lots of random pictures of dumb stuff that I can now pull up remotely.
- Post-its reminding me of games I need to play (and then review), movies I need to download, and sates of when all the things I pre-ordered on Amazon or backed on Kickstarter will actually be charging my card.
- A yet unread graphic novel I bought two weeks ago (Fables: The Deluxe Edition - Volume 2, if you care)
- A sack of various dice
- A big ol' speaker and several smaller ones that make really pretty noises when I turn them up. Although the turntable on the other side of the room makes much louder and prettier noises so it tends to win most times.
There's a PC in there too somewhere, but that seemed less important.
