What is the Value in XPosting

Why do we need to post it here though?

This? Because there are quite a few of us who don't (or refuse to) go to SW. But we still have something of value to add to the discussion.

Yes, I understand but is confusing. How is the OP benefiting from it?

More perspective? Introduces them to another community?

Because I send the OP a message stating that I've cross posted their topic, and invited them to join the conversation.

I guess, I was just trying to understand since the OP probably won't see it unless he does a search. That's all.

That makes more sense, sorry for the questioning.

No questions are good. No need to apologize for it.

Also the question is because I am on both and trying to answer on both might be more work for me

Actually getting responses And unlike on SW, trolling to hurt the OP is not allowed here, but is protected there.

Something that is important for people asking questions, is that often topics on ML are around 3,000% more active (on average) than on SW. So it can be that they just need to get to the answer, often questions are answered here before anyone responds on SW if they ever do, and because we are an IT Pro community, rather than an IT Buyer community, the types of responses are totally different - primarily around IT solutions and looking at their goals, rather than trying to sell them something.

While you have achieved pure cap status over there, your knowledge and skills are far more valued here.

/phew. Good to know I can troll as long as it doesnβt hurt the OP.

I appreciate the community on both SW and here, I might have achieved PC but I am far from being counted on most of the Top Posters here.

I hope and I know for a fact I don't troll but I try my best to find the unanswered posts mostly.

Also the SW interface sucks.. I am trying to simply tag someone and the fucking autoload thing is not loading, so I cannot tag them.
Let's not even get start on how long it takes to load a page.
