Windows 10 1709 PDFs won't open in IE 11
-
Four machines have updated at a client of mine. None of them work as far as PDFs in IE 11 after the update.
When you click a PDF in IE 11 after the update, it shows in the status bar at the bottom for about 2 seconds that it's opening, then nothing.
You can right click the link to a PDF and save the file, etc.. but the normal click open isn't working.
anyone else seeing this or something like it?

I wonder if it's trying to use Microsoft Edge to view PDF's?

That would be fine, as long as it opened - but it's just stalling with no errors.

Your problem is using the Windows IE or Edge for a PDF viewer.... KILL IT... change the file associate to a real viewer like FoxIT, Adobe or etc...

eh? Before the update, Adobe Reader is the associated viewer. After the it's not, but changing it didn't seem to stick. At least one user had it revert to Edge the next day.

Might be more of setting the default program in Control Panel.
