NVIDIA To Acquire Datacenter Networking Firm Mellanox for $6.9 Billion
Starting off the week bright and early, NVIDIA this morning announced that they’re acquiring datacenter networking and interconnect Mellanox. With a price tag of $6.9 billion, NVIDIA’s acquisition will be vaulting the company deep into the datacenter networking market, making them one of the leading vendors virtually overnight.
That seems like a pretty cool purchase.
Who else is thinking of that AMD graphics card with a Killer NIC onboard as well? That thing was just silly, but people believed that a NIC could enhance games.

The Galaxy S10’s face unlock fooled by pictures, siblings
2D image sensor gets fooled by 2D images.
Here's another friendly reminder that, if your Android phone doesn't have some kind of special hardware for face unlock, the feature probably isn't very secure. The latest phone to implement face unlock with nothing but the normal front camera is the Galaxy S10, and users across the web are reporting that the feature is easily confused or defeated.

Such a bad idea.

You could also use HAProxy. Which is decent.

I'm sure someone will if they change the license in the newer versions.

Next Windows release will include DTrace support
Popular open source Unix tool is now a part of Windows too.
The forthcoming Windows 10 feature update will bring support for DTrace, the open source debugging and diagnostic tracing tool originally built for Solaris. The port was announced at the Ignite conference last year, and today the instructions, binaries, and source code are now available.

I'm glad you said this. I felt the same way when I read this.
I see it more likely that F5 will try to nuter or completely kill off Nginx to push people to their paid product.
I mean I'm glad that Nginx was able to get enough support contracts to keep themselves affloat, but this is a hugely different company who lived in closed source, closed door sales plus support.

F5’s product does not do the same thing.

They are very similar. They both can be used in a load balancer and reverse proxy implementation.

A lot of overlap, they are competitors.

Fitbit Inspire HR review: A worthy $99 investment in your health
Fitbit packed many essentials into its $99 replacement for the Alta HR.
Apple may be dominating the wearable space, but Fitbit isn't far behind. Long before Apple even made smartwatches, Fitbit made fitness trackers for all types of people who would like to become healthier or advance their training to the next level. And as of late, Fitbit's $129 Alta HR surpassed others as our favorite simple-yet-powerful fitness band that could work for almost anyone.
