What a horrible conclusion. I'm sure something smilar may be true with heroin... but they can't test that because its not a publically acceptable killer drug like alcohol.
Not to mention, the numerous other health risks of drinking.
How do you really feel?

So drinking during coding should make everyone remember what the hell they were doing when they did it . .

This study has been approved by Tyrion Lannister.
Besides, drinking is enjoyable to those of us who realize that nobody on this plane of existence gets out alive. I don't understand the whole health obsessed, gym rat lifestyle. All those people are going to die too, but they may not have had as many life affirming, visceral experiences. Those are what make life worth living, not kale salads and crossfit.

Don't forget random occurrences of getting hit by a bus or whatever.
As someone who kind of mirrors your thinking, I will say that the times I have taken it a little easier (and lost weight) I did feel a hell of a lot better. And I've seen a lot of my family go through the illnesses some of this excess living causes, and it isn't pretty.
With that being said, I drink every night and general eat what I want. For now...

Now we know the truth. I know things because I drink.

Choosing not to drink because it's so bad for you doesn't automatically mean you have to be a gym rat and only eat rabbit food. Where'd you get that logic?

Well then I feel sorry for those of you who cannot have fun and enjoy life without being under the influence of alcohol. It's really sad it has come to that.
Having fun and enjoying life without alcohol is way better and worth a lot more!
Of course you may think it's not, because that's what drugs do. You get addicted, or at least dependent, and do everything you can to rationalize it's use.

Shove your sorry up your ass, because we don't want it.
People can enjoy all kinds of things without being addicts.

It's a bit of a skit from GC

haha, I enjoy a drink, some people enjoy smoking, I used to smoke (cigarettes) a couple of years ago but gave that up, but I wouldn't ever criticize anyone for smoking though, each to their own and all that..
I'm not prepared to give up a social and relaxing drink, I mostly only drink at the weekends but I am guilty of binge drinking a bit..I'm a jack daniels fan...

Enjoy what you want.
My main point of everything here was about the horribly post, title, study conclusion, etc.
What I see, is this:
"Hey everyone! Impair all of your senses except hearing, by drinking lots of alcohol. Then what you do hear, will stick in your mind better! Ignore ALL of the negative effects of alcohol, because there's nothing better in life to help your memory than messing up your body with alcohol!"
Horrible conclusion.

Yeah I don't care at all what anyone does. Though, sometimes I get tired of seeing people complaining about their health problems, and then at the same time, not doing anything about it... such as continuing to drink and irrationalizing it with this and that. It is one of the biggest causes of health issues and death, no matter what sentence or study you take out of context.

You're right that everyone is going to die.
But what matters, A LOT, is how you spend your last living 10-20+ years.
Do you want to be bedridden or otherwise unable to live comfortably last 20 years of your life?
People are generally living longer now due to medicine. This means if you are in bad condition at 60... well then good luck for your next 30 years!
You'll be wishing you cared more when you were 40 or 50. It's never too late to start caring, of course, until it's actually too late.

I'm 43, eat/drink/smoke what I want, enjoy life, and have never felt better. Lemmy said it best... "I don't want to live forever". Being old is horrible no matter how healthy your habits, and I definitely don't want to get that old, whatever age that may be. Once the quality has gone out of your life, there's zero reason to let modern medicine keep you alive a couple more decades, that's just insane.
It's better to burn out than it is to rust...
