Deepin Linux 15.4.1 Install

I notice that swap isn't including when selecting basic installation.

It has a look like Mac OSX
Yes. They definitely do a "what if Mac OSX was designed today instead of in the 90s" thing. It's quite similar but definitely way better. Lacks that "clippy" style art.

There's a Manjaro Deepin spin.
https://manjaro.org/2017/07/22/manjaro-deepin-community-edition-17-0-2/Since I'm invested in Fedora, I would like to try a Fedora Deepin spin.

Fedora = a distribution, and Deepin = a distribution. Hard to have them both in the same install.

Deepin is a full distro. They don't make a separate desktop environment that can be spun on another platform.
-
Really......!!!!!
-
No worries, I found a mirror closer to home!
-
Looks really slick.

Are you sure?

Looks pretty rad! If I could run it on Vultr and have an RDP-level experience to this I would be in heaven. Or there anything on that level?
I have tried No Machine without much luck, have never seen VNC run nearly as well as RDP 10 or even 8.
-
Or, if there was a decent RDP 10-ish client that would run on Linux. My oldest son is trying to figure out if he can load this on his current gaming machine.

You can run FreeRDP on there. I've not tested it recently, though.

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Deepin_Desktop_EnvironmentInteresting. Even Deepin's own website doesn't have info about DDE as a separate entity.

@scottalanmiller look under Projects - Desktop Environment.
How are you accessing your VM of this? I saw Remmina uses GTK+ but no idea about how well it works.
The FreeRDP project seems to have stalled on RDP 5.2, which is a world of different. Sometimes I am in a remote RDSH session and forget that I am in it (running Visual Studio, Photoshop, etc lately) Youtube, music, RDP 10 just seems perfect.
Really wish Linux had this. I would probably never have a need for Windows again.
-
My VM is available over the web interface via the Scale HC3 manager. You could consider Guacamole as well, if you don't have a Scale cluster like me
-
@scottalanmiller I have been thinking about trying out. Just looking for something that could handle real intense usage (youtube streaming, graphics editing). Something that would make me forget I am in a remote session, or close to it.
I am everywhere these days and its nice to be able to jump on and off my personal desktop.

I doubt that Guacamole will handle that that smoothly, but worth a try.
