Web Hosting Options

We have a client who wants to move their Website (we don't handle their site for them) and they need hosting options:
They are primarily Joomla sites, but one wordpress, another in drupal and concrete for other things. Ideally the hosting should have a cpanel, rather than the parallels cms. And yes they want it all in one place.

A Small Orange uses cPanel and has been very good.

We moved to them originally for lots of bad business reasons. A previous admin had used ColdFusion, with the Windows Server and ColdFusion licensing requirements in place at the time (2006 was when it was implemented.) Our previous host was moving to the "cloud" and dropping their VPS service, and would have cost twice as much per month. VivioTech had the same VPS that was going away cheaper than our original plan. Plus, we transitioned to a Drupal site and dropped all that artificially added expense.
I've had them keep cPanel through the years since, just because the people at cPanel can do a much better job keeping things updated than I possibly can as a one man band. I haven't looked if places like vultr.com and linode.com offer cPanel at all, if they do, they're price point might be better.

OVH pretty much for everything like that. Monitoring tools have not shown any outages or issues in 2 years of usage. The problem is it requires Linux admin knowledge rather than "DIY" CPanel

We could always acquire cPanel for one VM and do it that was. But probably not idea for that kind of customer.

I've used Host Monster - they have cPanel and have been great to work with over the last 10 years.

I've used zpanel (open-source) before and it works pretty well.

Oh I almost forgot. There is another project called Sentora which is fork from zpanel. Kind of like the owncloud and nextcloud fork.

I moved from Hostgator to Dreamhost. Hostgator uses cPanel, Dreamhost does not. However, for my purposes I don't need cPanel. Between the ability to SSH and their own control panel, I'm good.
That said, Hostgator is pretty good. Their customer service has, in my experience, always been very helpful and knowledgeable. Sometimes in certain categories I'd be the one schooling them first so they could better help me, but that wasn't usually the case. I would recommend Hostgator, even though I switched from the for my own reasons.
