Solved Integrating Rocket.Chat into Wordpress
-
I'm not sure what the best practice would be--there may be a widget or something that does this for you, but I'd personally make a Rocket.chat web server with nginx and link an icon that says "help desk" to that URL. You can create an a record for the subdomain and then use letsencrypt for SSL certification. Using a domain you already have makes the certification process easier.
I have a google domain, so this is what it would look like. The IPv4 Address would be to the web server and the same IP address would go down on the bottom where DATA is listed. Hope this helps.

In your case you would have two host names
www.domain.com <-- Website
helpdesk.domain.com <-- Rocket Chat -

Looks pretty nice, but no one really want to deal with "yet another" chat application if we can avoid it.

Holy cow Rocket.Chat is SO sweet. You enable LiveChat, it gives you code, you pop it into a text widget on WordPress... done.

Wow, I might have to look into that, in all that time I don't have!

This was like ten minutes, tops. Works amazingly well.

@scottalanmiller appears to have just got it working in like 2 seconds. Not sure what he did, perhaps he will enlighten us.

Tried the above steps but seems to be not working until I able to discover there is a "greyed out" Live Chat slider button.
