Same issue in a brand new VM, and with a different download of the recovery environment.
Linked to original disk image, or created a new one?

Same results with old VM, brand new (empty VM) and new and old ISO.

Try less RAM.
-
@Dashrender Just tried that, same thing.
Also tried this on different hosts (non-similar hardware) same results.
-
so you have a different old VM that it does work on, but all the new ones don't work.. weird. I'd say bad ISO.

Yeah.. one vm it works on, others it doesn't. So where am I supposed to get a replacement iso... lol

As the backup vendor... my backup software allows me to recreate the ISO as much as I like.
-
@Dashrender I mean if the source iso is buggy
-
I mean get another copy from where ever you got this copy.

Either that or find the MD5 for the ISO, and make sure your current copy hasn't been compromised.
-
@Dashrender yeah... you'd think the MD5 would be right here next to the download.... but it's not... Entering the product key takes you to a temporary page to download the iso, but no such MD5 or hash anywhere on the page...
Wonderful..

Many places don't provide the hash for the download. It was just an option I thought of to save you from having to download the whole thing again.
-
@Dashrender Yeah... I know. Unfortunately I'm at a standstill with the software as I can't troubleshoot what the issue is.
I've made a ticket with StorageCraft and am waiting for a reply.

Hopefully, ultimately it won't matter and you'll simply be able to reinstall XS on a new USB stick and find your SR and recreate your VMs.
