Solved Wordpress support troubles
-
My (non-technical)neighbor has been trying to renew his domain name through Wordpress, and he is having zero luck. The auto renewal failed because there was an expired bank card on his account (even though he put his new card in when he got it). When he clicks "renew my domain", the website just goes in a circle, with nowhere to change the bank card for payment. When we looked up the support form, that page was broken. Anyone have any secret, insider tips on how to get the payment section to function correctly? We tried removing both cards and re-entering the new one, I flushed the browser cache and rebooted the machine, in IE it said "unsupported browser". His old domain name lapsed for a short time and someone bought it and is squatting on it, so he definitely wants to get this one paid soon so he can keep it.
Any ideas will be appreciated.

Did you manage to get anywhere yet on this?
I finally got the support form to work on my PC at home, so he filled it out and sent it. Hopefully it is sorted now. I guess I have to help clean out his PC at some point.

No clue here. Registering a domain through a host is just not something I have ever done.
Does Wordpress not have any support contact methods for domain registrations?

The only support contact form we can find is broken - the text boxes aren't clickable, etc. It's just odd that they let the money getting part of their website stay broken.

LOL, sounds like he might be the source of many issues in the future.

I saw a couple of posts on their support forum referencing similar issues. Seems like it might be widespread.

Might be browser dependent or something like that.

He couldn't get it to work in chrome or FF, I was able to get it to open in FF correctly. I think it is something else on his computer.
