This is right in my backyard. I work and live only a few miles from Kennedy Space Center.

I didn't personally. I am about 4 miles away and I was in the server room at the time.
I did see a couple friends post about it feeling it on facebook. One friend almost fell off his kayak from it.

I used to drive out to New Smyrna Beach when i lived in Orlando a couple times a week. Got to see quite a few rocket launches. One Shuttle launch, but i was in Orlando for that. Still i could hear it(60 miles) and it lit up the daylight sky like a sparkler at night.
Im sure spacex will get the problem fixed. Too bad it was an internet.org satellite though. -
@momurda internet.org, is that a Facebook company? I ask because the news show has been reporting it as a Facebook satellite that blew up on the pad.

Facebook does a LOT of stuff. Access into other countries is a big thing.

Don't have any idea what this sat was for. But FB is so big that they could have simple needs like wanting a dedicated line with zero third party costs or leaks that can move tremendous data between two countries internally without hitting an ISP.
