Raising the floor would buy us time, but the water rose at over an inch a minute. So it would not buy us much.

Yeah... SO fast. Once I saw it rising there wasn't much to be done but to jump into it.
Is it done rising now, or are you bailing with one hand while testing out the waterproofing on your iPhone 7 with the other?

Yeah, it was crazy being out there in the deluge. Some of the heaviest rain I've ever had. I was blind from the amount of water in my eyes. WIth the six inches of water on the ground it was a bit like swimming!
