I'm paying 30 EUR including 2 ISDN lines (emulated over SIP), phone flat, cable TV and ~40/125 MBit/s FTTB with VDSL2 from the basement to my apartment.

Oh, yeah, and roughly 19 EUR for our public broadcasting (you have to pay for that, there is no opt-out)

He's not in the US. No one pays Internet prices like the US. They are some of the highest in the world.
300Mb/s 4G is just $8/mo in Moldova.

Just a scam tax. It should be included in the general tax, not a separate thing as if you are using it.
