ML is pretty addictive.
yeah, but I really do miss the techie side of SW, but unlike you I have a very hard time splitting my attention over two+ sites.
-
We need more techie questions here. That's a huge thing.

I have no problem doing that... Except I have a job... and if I open both ML and SW at the same time... Yeah, I won't get anything done that day.
-
All the technie people are here. Just need the discussions kicked off more often.
-
I have a hard time getting work done with only ML open...

And SW is impossible to follow in the same way.

Now that I turned on pagination, the long threads are waaaaaay less annoying. Bring on more tech questions.

That's Panama City from my hotel.

Our ISP's backbone provider is having a major outage right now. Not sure why it isn't being tracked can't seem to find reports of it at all. It is due to power outages in NY. TWC seems unaffected (I am home for the rest of the day).
-
Would that me a certain Rochester based ISP known for covering up these things?
-
One whose name might be interpreted as a streaming fart?
-
@scottalanmiller Windscream?
-
That's who I would fear. If you use them, you expect to be down and for them to lie about it.
-
@scottalanmiller Or to get someone on the phone at 2am who thinks you are a residential customer and keeps trying to tell you that you are not having a problem.
Exacerbated by the fact that the phone support guy was speaking in a heavy accent to a deaf man.
-
How does Windstream get people on their phone? Their phone lines are always down. Do they call from their cell phones or something?
-
@scottalanmiller I don't know about now... Fortunately, I haven't had to deal with them in several years now. But back then, it sounded like they were doing VOIP over dialup with a 300 baud modem.

No thankfully not. We use a local ISP (we are 4 hours from Rochester) who uses I think Level3 as the backbone.
-
that's a relief.
