Not used the site but is it really that difficult to type [email protected] into the account box? Article says their verification is non existent.
Not sure what you mean.
When you register an account, apparently you can type whatever email address you want and the account is created, no email verification.
-
But they also have CC records in there, which are much more damning. Hard to argue it wasn't you if your CC # is in there.

2nd dump from Ashley Madison hack is 2x, includes CEO e-mail
Of course the CEO has an account. Who doesn't have an account with their own service to see how it is working?

Yes,.. but.. if you had been a victim of ID theft... But - as much as that happens.. how often does that happen....
-
Yes, that's it, my Credit Card was stolen and the thieves used by identity to.... get me dates?

I think what they mean by "Includes CEO Email" is that the second dump contains the contents of the CEO's inbox.
-
Okay, that's a bit different
-
the second dump also includes the complete source code to the site. The next thing people are worried about is pictures and private messages being released.
-
LOL, now THAT would be a big score.

Deliciously evil to correlate pics with pm's and email addy.
Whole thing is going a bit beyond good taste I think, at some point these poor people deserve SOME privacy.
-
Especially as it is just people using a service. There is nothing actually telling us that they weren't just using it as a dating site. While the marketing isn't the best, the actual service is just a bunch of people signing up to find each other. Nothing like picking on the lonely.
