Fedora 23 to Get Cinnamon
-
Red Hat's Fedora 23 release is set to receive a Cinnamon Spin bringing the revolutionary desktop to the popular Fedora platform. This promises to be a major release for the Cinnamon project which is the brainchild of the Linux Mint project (built on Ubuntu.) By bringing Cinnamon officially to the Fedora world this provides not only an entire new, and very large, potential world of Cinnamon users but begins the process of potentially getting Cinnamon into the CentOS and RHEL desktop worlds as well.

I think that this is really great. Cinnamon is far and away my favourite desktop environment and I really like the Linux Mint project but Mint is based on Ubuntu and I want a an RPM distribution for my desktops if possible. Fedora and OpenSuse are ideal desktop environments but lacking Cinnamon is a major issue that has pushed me to use Mint for several years now. I am very excited to see such a large expansion for Cinnamon.

This is exciting. I really need to update my Fedora installation.

Very exciting!!

I do still prefer the awesome Mint colour scheme though

Maybe I need to ditch Windows 10 and install Mint or Fedora... I haven't run Linux as my daily driver in a while.

I really wish that I could easily be on Linux 100% instead of Mac OSX, but I'll never learn Mac OSX well if I don't stick to it I do have VirtualBox 5 running the latest Linux Mint 17.2 on it and that runs pretty well. But type 2 VMs are just never snappy like a native desktop is
