We don't attend too many conferences. Where and when is this one?
Orlando in september. They're offering a 70% off if ordered before the 1st of next month. so instead of 1200 becomes 399. CHECK IT

Not a bad price. Does it overlap with Spiceworld though? Spiceworld in Austin is a fun event (and there is the "Scott Alan Miller Afterparty" to attend!) NTG has about ten people heading to Austin this year (and every year.) We only have one or two going to London.

not sure when spiceworld is. This is 8-10. i guess what could i benefit from going to something like this? Why would they do it mon-wed. hard for a one man shop to go out of town.

Oh wow, that's really good. I wonder if @minion-queen knows. @katie is roughly local so could attend pretty easily. We work with GFI so it's not a bad idea.
-
I saw it but hadn't explored it too much. Sending @katie would be good.

That's a real good deal. Hotels in Orlando are pretty cheap, and it's easy enough for me to drive up.

Why would you go to a vendor conference?
There are many reasons to do so, most notably the business networking that takes place at events like these. Because this one is vendor-specific, you could expect to attend sessions focused on issues relating to use of the product or use-cases. It's an excellent opportunity to get out of the office.
After the daytime hours, it's not uncommon for there to be a vendor-sponsored happy hour or party. Also good for more relaxed networking and socialisation.
Bring a fistful of business cards, because you will want to exchange with others you meet.
Bring something with which to take notes. Sometimes you'll be given a notebook sponsored by some vendor, but sometimes not.
Wear comfortable shoes. Lots of walking around.I hope that helps a little.

Vendor conferences can be very good. Especially for networking. Good chance to keep in touch with other people doing what you are doing.
