BBC Micro Bit Unveiled

The BBC in the UK has unveiled a tiny, pocket sized programmable computer designed to encourage school children to learn to program. The BBC Micro Bit follows in a history of small, low cost computers from the BBC and will be given out for free to school kids.

Quite interesting. Very minimalistic in the form factor.
It will be interesting to see where this goes and compares to the BasicStamp and Raspberry Pi. While it is not set to be a competitor.

The unit can be powered by battery or by a USB cable.

The original BBC Micro was released in 1981. The BBC has been making computers for a very long time.
