@scottalanmiller Moderation based on someone being offended. 'nuff said. Even I got BH'd for saying tally-ho because I quoted PSX, no words, no pics. Interesting day indeed.
Yeah, I just read the discussion in question.

@PSX_Defector 5mill objects? What the hell was that? It sounds like fun in itself.
A certain movie website's back end image server. 5mil might be a bit of an understatement. Customer has two hosts, both of them got borked on it's settings at the same folder level. My colleague who was working on it yesterday at this time did it via the GUI and was still at work until 6:00PM. I been doing it piecemeal via the command line, which seems to be moving very fast. I've got permissions on folders laid out, just applying it to the individual objects.
I'm just watching the number fly by.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was because of the "[F] this thread, I'm out" image. Collateral damage and all.

Who did the BHing?
-
@scottalanmiller Paragraph did, I pm'd him about it. But I think the whole thing blew up because not enough time was allowed to resolve it, someone had a moderator tag which escalated the original hurt feelings yada yoda. I guess if you make a big enough public scene you get your way now.
-
Are you guys talking about the women drivers thread?
-
Also made a comment about hanging up that title too. I found that kind of ironic. Add another mod to that growing list.....
-
@Dashrender No this was a entirely different one. Someone got mad about a word in a meme and it wasn't instantly resolved.

That's been a repeated concern over and over recently. I've heard people say a lot of times that it is all about newbies whining loudly and no credence given to established norms or consistency or the rules.

Paragraph did? Hey, did anyone invite him here? He is conspicuously missing.
-
You know what, can I send him an invite?

Panties and twists....

@scottalanmiller Sand.......like gravel grade.
-
knickers get twisted.
panties are in wads.I'm so offended!
I also just made that up. -
I'm finding it really bizarre the amount of "PC" issues going on there. Where did it all come from? My only guess is that there was some pandering to the "any complaints" mentality and once people realized that any complaint, no matter how unfounded, was a useful weapon they just started using it.

I'm coining a new hashtag
#BanBeingOffended

I think the overly PCness going on is going to bite them in the butt and slow things down on the community to a all newbies only if it keeps up.

i was watching that thread closely to see what happened, Interestingly enough it played out just like i thought. Someone took something out of context and was offended, complained like they do to their parents when a kid hurt them and it went from there. Granted I was that person once upon a time where I called out a post for using similar language. I then took a step back and asked myself why was i so offended over something that was said. I came to realize that it's the internet and well if it is not a personal attack and not truly offensive, why should i react? Bill doesn't this sound familiar to the conversation we had about the legit or be concerned post?
