What do you think of Webroot
-
We switched and have been loving it. The console is good, the support is good, the resource usage is good.
-
We switched to them a few months ago. So far so good. Deployment was silly in how simple it was to setup and get working. The web console is very informative.
@Nic is one of their CS reps, he may be able to help you with any questions you may have.

It's an amazing product! I could not be happier, to be perfectly honest...
-
Met a Webroot guy at a spicecorps last night, pretty much sold me on it.
Just have that niggling "ahhh but what do others think"
It seems too good to be true that the product can be that good.

Yup, I totally get what you mean. Amazing staff, amazing product, amazing price. What's the catch, right? Well, there is none!

I haven't tried it on Windows since I like Sophos so much. But, when I tried it on Mac OS the experience was not great. It had all kinds of issues and it wouldn't even uninstall. Had to do it manually and eventually I had to re-install the OS as there were still pieces of webroot left causing issues. I do like their staff though.

@thecreativeone91 Interesting, when was this? Do you remember what OS you were running?

Don't remember what version. Likely Yosemite. It wasn't very long ago.
-
Had nothing but issues with it on my MacBook Pro.
It runs great on Windows. I have recommended it to clients and some use it.
-
Right, avoid mac installs then.
-
I personally run it and I have one client running it. It's super light weight and the console is nice.

@Breffni-Potter They will be at SpiceWorld London, so you can get a more thorough demo there if you're interested.

We switched to WR from Vipre a while back. Overall, I'm happy with the product. There are a few things that take getting adjusted to or that need addressing in the product:
-
Your actions in the web panel don't occur immediately. Depending on your settings, it can take up to 24 hours for the command to be processed by the endpoint.
-
Everything is MD5 based. You can't exclude by directory or filename. If the MD5 changes, then you have to "redo" your earlier changes to allow the new version of the app.
-
Identity Shield modifications (allow / deny an app) occur at the endpoint level rather than the policy level.

The problem is, product demos are always biased. They are there to show off their product and the demo I saw last night was good enough, I don't need someone to explain how it works when I can trial it.
The biggest thing is, are people using it, do they like it or hate it, if they hate it, then no product demo will ever fix that, if they like it, then it just confirms what I know.

Let me know if you have any questions - happy to get you answers!

I'm stuck with Sophos on my Mac and am pretty unhappy with it. Can't tell if it even works but the updater definitely doesn't do anything 90% of the time.

As I see similar issues with Sophos on Mac, maybe the issue is having a Mac!
-
But they are soooo shiney.

I'll admit that our Mac version isn't as polished as the Windows version, but there is current work going on to improve it. If you do have problems on a Mac let me know and I can get you some help from the guy who specializes in Mac stuff here.

I just took it off and never reinstalled it.
