Gmail, How Do You Run New Filters Against Existing Inbox
-
Title pretty much says it all. Once I make filters, how do I clean up the mail that has already arrived?
-
@scottalanmiller Go back in and Edit the Filter... after you click the little Continue link, there will be a checkbox that says "Also apply this filter to x matching conversations...l. Click it, and then update filter.
-
Ah ha, thanks. Typical bad Google interface, have to go filter by filter and do this rather than applying all at once. At least there aren't too many.
-
Best answer for you!
-
Oh, Gmail can't handle filtering the Inbox. It just errors out. Google fail, again.
-
Why even try? Its gmail.
-
@thecreativeone91 I like it, at least until I host my own when I win a C@C server

Dont think I'd run a mail server there. Its slow. And I doubt they run backups either.

No backups. You have to take your own.
And they use SAN, so beware!

It'd be more of a learning experience, point taken about backups.
