Identifying the PBX Used
-
So I was curious if anyone else is like me and identifies the type of PBX used by a company by the hold music they use. Certain tunes are built into certain systems, like FreePBX/Elastix, Avaya, Cisco, etc. Called a small ISP local to Baton Rouge, LA today and I'm dead certain they have a FreePBX/Elastix based system. Same hold music I used to hear at NTG.
Am I the only one who notices stuff like this, or am I not the only crazy one? Lol
Thanks,
A.J. -
You are crazy, but I notice stuff like this too Maybe I am crazy too? o_0

We always bought hold music packages. Most places I've called either use music packages or have custom advertising hold music.
-
We use some creative commons music, we are going to work on advertising for our MOH stuff soon.

Either way, I don't generally listen to that, it is the voice prompts that I listen to. I know if it is an asterisk box from how the voicemail is generally presented.
-
I can't say I try to identify the PBX, but I will do something similar to place voice over names to the person on television commercials.

Can't remember the last time that I was on hold.
