CloudatCost Server Vanished
-
After having spent a few days trying to get one of my servers to initialize (it failed on delivery and failed on two subsequent rebuilds) I kicked it off for yet another rebuild. The last time it build and the console worked but the networking was not plumbed properly and/or the IP address supplied to me was wrong. In either case, I could not ping it nor connect to it. On the console there was a prompt but the supplied password was wrong. These things would not matter as they happen a lot, you just rebuild and wait another day. But I include them in case they are relevant to what happened next...
I kicked off another rebuild of the VM and instead of rebuilding, the VM vanished completely. It is no longer on my panel at all. I have received no email about it. It is just gone.

@scottalanmiller I had the same thing happen. It I just waited a while and it came back. http://mangolassi.it/topic/4193/c-c-issues/101

Sounds like maybe they simply grew to fast to keep up.. and the platform is imploding!

3 or 4 hours I think.

Okay, that's not long compared to days of waiting for it to build in the first place. Let's see what happens.

That may be true, but its their own fault for letting themselves overgrow.
-
This happened to me many times. It will come back, maybe in 5 minutes, maybe in 5 hours, but it will come back.
-
Okay, so for one hour, no sign of it.

Maybe just open a support ticket.
I'm still wondering what C@C hasn't given us any answers for the issues.

Trying logging out and back in.

And maybe try firefox instead of chrome. But that might be a long shot.

Just got an email about the reimage and the system showed up again. Sadly it is not reimaged, but at least it is in the panel again.
-
Okay, it is up and working now! Finally.
-
@scottalanmiller What a pain, huh?
-
Yeah, that was a lot of work just to get it imaged. Seems to be okay now.

Scott, considering the other thread, what type of windows license do you need to run a windows server in C@C?

There is none that lets you.

So for Cloud based Windows servers, you're only option is to rent the OS from the Cloud provider? like Rackspace $10/month/machine?
